Public Investment in Children - Jezzine Municipality

Within the framework of the Arab Network for Child Rights " Manara "  Which is working  on "improving accountability and transparency at the children's level in local and national governance in the Middle East and North Africa through strengthening the role of national and local institutions in enforcing all rights of the most marginalized children without any discrimination "

Nabaa' and Alef in partnership with Save the Children and funded by SIDA, have conducted a training for Jezzine municipality for two days in the presence of employees, members and heads of committees from the municipality, it is based on an assessment that has been conducted to monitor the municipality's gaps in the field of Child rights for the purpose of developing an action plan with the municipality to fill those gaps and reach a child-friendly municipality.

The first day of training was reside on the definition of the principles of the budget and how to prepare it and implement it, in addition to the budget outline by Basel Flaihan Institute.

Whereas, on the second day the training was accomplished by Nabaa and it was reside on the investment in children allied to human rights, child rights and the minimum standards for child friendly municipalities according to municipal law and how to prepare child-friendly budgets for child rights-based programming, It relies on collecting data about children within the geographical area that is being analyzed and use the results in order for working to develop solutions for issues and problems in which children are suffering from which have been shown in the research results that have been analyzed by monitoring the violations  that children are suffering from as well.
